The next round of betting occurs after all players have either bet or folded. At this point, one player may choose to "open" or bring out the first bet. If all players except one fold at any given point in time, that lone player wins whatever money is in the pot (the total amount of money wagered during that particular hand).

If there is only one card left in the deck and it's revealed during showdown (the final confrontation between players where hands are shown), then whoever holds that particular card automatically wins (even if they don't have the best possible hand). This rule applies only to hole cards (cards which are not shown to others). If more than one card remains in the deck and it's revealed during showdown, then ties are broken according to traditional poker rankings (the highest ranking card being victorious).
